My Story
The visual arts are introduced to us all at different points of time, whether it be the premier night of a film or watching a seven second looped video on a phone. For me, my love and respect for this medium started as an eight year old, elbow deep in a five dollar movie bin at Walmart, fishing for Richard Donner's Superman. Watching that movie opened my eyes to the magic of storytelling, where for a second, I really believed a man could fly. Watching movies became my father's and my favorite thing to do together, and it ultimately ignited a desire to create stories for others to enjoy as well. Whether it be for big scale blockbusters, or unique and smart commercials that manage to tell a whole story, I wanted to use that flame.
Going to Ball State University to pursue a degree in Video Production was an eye opening four years. The program challenged me to apply myself in a variety of different ways, and to become a jack of all trades. Not only did I learn my way around a camera, but also how to edit, coordinate large scale projects with multiple people and teams, and so much more. Between moving to Indianapolis to moving across the country to Vermont, it has been a whirlwind of change these past few years, but I am qualified and eager to get my foot in the door to professionally film and edit. I'm ready to create, adapt, learn, and then create again.
